TSL provide lighting and rigging equipment and services to the Live Event, Concert Touring, Corporate and Trade-Rental markets. The business has a diverse range of customers, who value the high quality and standards that we work to. As a member of a small team, this role is a combination of client handling / account management and hands-on project management. Key responsibilities will involve handling customer relationships and major projects working closely with our freelance LD and production industry clients. Reporting directly to the MD, you will have influence into the equipment investments and opportunities that present themselves. Your experience and knowledge will be a hugely valuable contribution and support to other team members.
You will be an established figure within the production / rental industry and have a good range of professional contacts and experience. You will have an in-depth working knowledge of current lighting and rigging equipment and best practice in a range of live events and productions, particularly in our core markets. You will have a demonstrable track record in the commercial aspects of rental projects, client retention and development, a true passion for lighting & rigging and strong interpersonal skills.

TSL Lighting are currently looking for a flexible, proactive and self-motivated person to join our operations team as a driver.
The role involves driving the company’s vehicles to deliver & collect lighting and rigging equipment to / from various venues, productions and suppliers across the SE, London and nationwide.
Many deliveries and collections are outside of standard working hours, by nature of the business, and schedules will change at short notice. A flexible and adaptable approach to working hours will be vital. The role is a public face of the company and we are looking for a presentable fluent English speaker with good communications skills and a generally cheerful demeanour.
Applicants must have a good driving record, be aged 25+ with a full UK Driving Licence, for Category B, with category C1 as a distinct advantage.
A Driver CPC or additional goods vehicle licence categories would be a further advantage.
Experience of driving in London / SE with good knowledge of routes and traffic and experience of driving long wheelbase panel vans and other goods vehicles.
You will be a well organised & numerate individual, with good basic IT skills and an attention to detail and accuracy.
This role will involve the manual handling of bulky equipment and will also involve assisting within other areas of the business as required.

This role involves three primary activities:
Being a member of crew on TSL's on-site operations in the delivery of specialist lighting and rigging projects.
Representing the company and being the point of contact for its customer, within a lighting & rigging crew, on a broad range of events.
Assisting with pre-production, systems design, visualisation, equipment preparation, for the companies projects.
You must be a hardworking and keen individual
Have a good working knowledge of current lighting and rigging equipment and practices.
Practical working knowledge of power and data distribution.
Working knowledge of WYSIWYG & CAD packages an advantage.
Demonstrable ability in basic principles of lighting design and programming.
Good communications / interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast developing company.
Full driving licence, own transport and passport required.
Ability to travel within UK, Europe & internationally, often at short notice.

Equipment Preparation Technicians
We are looking for several new members to join our business to fill temporary and permanent positions within our operations team. We are interested to hear from people who either want to pursue a permanent career within an operations environment or who see time learning to prep equipment in a warehouse as invaluable experience for their future career in the production lighting and rigging industry.
Equipment Prep Technician - 3 month temporary contract & permanent positons available.
This role works across all of our departments (Lanterns, Moving Lights, Control, Cable and Rigging). This is a great way to get to know the company and secure relationships that could lead to further employment opportunities, having had the opportunity to prove your work ethic and ability.

TSL use a range of freelance engineers, technicians and specialists across the business. We are always interested to hear from self-employed independent professionals within the lighting and rigging disciplines.
We do receive a large number of enquires about freelance work, so in addition to professionals who can provide general crewing, we are specifically interested to hear from individuals with an additional specific skill. We are always keen to hear from individuals with the following additional skills:
NRC Level 2 or Level 3 Riggers
Forklift / MEWP certificated operators
Mains / Electrical / Installation qualifications
Moving light maintenance engineer
Networking / control systems techs
Programmers / operators (MA, Avo, Chamsys, Hog)
Rope Access / IRATA certified climbers
We also have freelance opportunities for Assistant Technicians, who may be less experienced and happy to work under the supervision and direction of our general crew. Opportunities for Assistant Technicians include both fit-ups and get outs on site and also the preparation of equipment in our warehouse.
